I was hired as a videographer to produce a series of short videos for social media for Good Return and Chamroeun Microfinance to promote the product they have designed to provide people with with disabilities in Cambodia with financial services. The 6 videos show different aspects of the project and are designed for multiple audiences (financial institutions and their employees, trainers, beneficiaries) to best implement the upscaling of the project. The video will be used on various organisations social media pages to point towards more in-depth information about the project (web pages, full versions of the videos).
NGO Vidoegrapher - An overview of providing financial services for people with disabilities
I was hired as a videographer and photographer to produce a range of multimedia materials, including photography and video Good Return and Chamroeun Microfinance to promote the product they have designed to provide people with with disabilities in Cambodia with financial services to improve their quality of life. This video gives an overview of the process of providing people with disabilities with financial services. Hopefully it will be a vital tool in promoting the services and will be valuable in rolling out the services to other financial institutions and to other provinces in Cambodia, so more and more people can benefit from the valuable service.
NGO videographer for microfinance for people with disabilities
I was hired as a videographer and photographer to produce a series of video case studies for Good Return and Chamroeun Microfinance to promote the product they have designed to provide people with with disabilities with financial services to improve their quality of life. The 4 case studies each look at a different aspects of the process (providing training, frontline workers, beneficiaries, product design). Hopefully the videos show how the process works, demonstrates the benefits of providing people with disabilities with financial services and will help with the roll out of the product to provide more people with disabilities these services in Cambodia. All videos were made in Khmer and English versions with sign language.
Above is the video case study of Rattana. He worked as a trainer before taking a loan and setting up a small business.
Yeoun Keo is visually impaired and has taken out a loan to buy chickens and pigs and to build a pig pen.
Sophea and Lyheng work for Chamroeun at their Battambang branch in western Cambodia. They provide the training, sign people up for loans and monitor people’s progress after they taken their loan.
The above video case study shows the work that Phaikday and Maneth do for Good Return. They helped to design the training materials, they review and update the materials in line with people’s needs and they provide the trainers with training so that the training programme can be scaled up.
Magawa Dies in Retirement
My photography and videography work has been used to again, this time with the sad news that Magawa died at the age of 8. A fitting tribute was paid to him on Apopo’s website and my pictures are videos were used in international publications including Time, Reuters, The Washington Post, ABC News and Forbes. He will not only be remembered for his work clearing mines in Cambodia, but will also for the attention he brought to the subject. Hopefully his legacy will live on and the good work that Apopo is doing clearing mines in Cambodia will progress at an increasing rate.
Director's Reel
I was asked for a showreel by a client. The feedback was positive, but they wanted me to demonstrate that I knew how to construct sequences, which is a valid point, so I put together a director’s reel of some of the projects that I’ve worked on over the years. Previously, I wasn’t a fan of reels, as I thought you could just look at someone’s work to see what they’re capable of, but it works well as a shop window and if it can motivate you to try new things that you may not be able to do when working for clients (which hopefully it will), I can see definite benefits. It can also be a useful tool to review your work and establish the direction you want to take things in.
